Everything we ordered was delicious! We had the crab aranchini, lamb parppadelle pasta, rigatoni pasta, & dark chocolate cake with mascarpone. It was all absolutely delicious! The only bad thing was the service. It took our waiter well over 30 mins to get our drink order in & by that time we ordered everything since we were super hungry!

I was with a group of volunteers on a Sunday after our shift at the aquarium. All were happy with their selected menu items, and Carlos provided excellent service!

We called ahead to verify that there was outdoor seating, and the host was very kind and accommodating on the phone. When we arrived, our table was ready and we were able to order right away. While the food was good, my partner was wanting Parmesan on his gnocchi, and I could have used black pepper on mine, but our server seemed too busy to come and check on us outside, so we weren't able to ask for it. We would come again, but maybe when it's less busy!

I have not been since the ownership change, but had lunch with mom at Il vecchio in Pacific Grove recently. Our server, Regina, was a hoot. Very friendly and cemented our choices. I decided to try the Carbonara. This is something I rarely like out which is why I chose it. My mom chose the Zoodle al Limone. The Carbonara claimed to be traditional style; eggs, guanciale, black pepper, pecorino, grana padano, poached egg, and crispy prosciutto. While not exactly a traditional preparation, it was quite delicious. The poached egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk added a lovely creaminess to the dish. What I could not eat, my mom did. The guanciale and prosciutto added the perfect amount of salt. Delicious! Mom's Zoodle al Limone was so fresh. Between the basil pesto, tomatoes, mushrooms and grilled lemon, there was quite a bit of flavor. A touch of parmigiana and it was the perfect lunch. Service was on point and friendly, the atmosphere is still quite cozy and they are once again offering a lunch specials menu. I can't wait to take my husband back for jazz night on Thursday.

Food was absolutely amazing! The gentleman who served us was so kind and was super helpful to fit me and my husband's needs when it came to what we were looking for. The whole mood of the restaurant was amazing! The lighting, and music was perfect! It wasn't super loud and me and my husband were able to have a good conversation and hear each other perfectly. Super inviting and all the waiters and staff were so kind! Special thanks again to the gentleman who sat us and helped us through the night. He was so genuine and made us both feel so welcomed and when we left we were talking about the experience the whole way home! SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS The meatballs were so delicious and my husband scrapped his bowl clean! The pasta was cooked beautifully and had great flavor! CHICKEN CACIO E PEPE I ordered my chicken on the side (which the waiter suggested) because being pregnant I haven't been able to eat meat. But he said they could put it on the side so my husband could eat it without losing the chicken and my husband greatly appreciated the suggestion! The pasta was super delicious and I ate so much of it! The texture and everything was on par! HOT CHOCOLATE This is a really random one but I HAD to give this drink its own review. The hot chocolate was so delicious and tasted like pure milk chocolate without feeling thick. It was the perfect temperature where you could sip on it right away and not burn your tongue. It came with this nice later of foam on top which was very tasty and soft. Also with the sun setting and the cold wind picking up it was the perfect warming solution.

It's very solid. Cute interior with some straightforward food that is well prepared. Can be a little loud and on the weekends the service is a little slow because they're busy.

Our part of 4 had a reservation for 5:45pm on the Friday after 4th of July, and were seated immediately even though we arrived 15 minutes early. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time but by 6:30pm there was a bit of a wait at the front. Our server Rich was very friendly and checked in throughout the menu. The decor is very charming, with cute mismatching wooden chairs, warm lighting and farmhouse vibes throughout. We ordered everything to share for the table; - orecchiette boscaiola ($24): Rich said this was his favorite, and I really enjoyed the light white wine sauce, flavorful sausage and freshness from the peas. - carbonara ($24): super creamy and well seasoned with black pepper with thin and light crisp prosciutto, though I'm not really sure if I actually noticed any guanciale, and the poached egg was quite overcooked. - lamb pappardelle ($26): my favorite pasta of the night, with al dente wide noodle that gave it the perfect bite. The tomato sauce was fresh and just the right amount of tartness to cut through the richness of the lamb. - foresta gelato creation ($12): this was a very tall glass of gelato and we shared it between the 4 of us; the whipped cream on top was excellent and not sweet, and the gelato was creamy and went very well with the tart frozen berry layered throughout. My friend also got an affogato (not on the menu) which was the perfect pick me up! Overall il vecchio had great atmosphere, service and food for a reasonable price, and I'd love to come back again.
